Why does Clearance AI need microphone access?
The microphone is used to listen to ATC radio communications in real time. Audio is processed entirely on your device - no audio is ever recorded, stored, or transmitted.
Does the app work offline?
Yes. All speech recognition and clearance extraction happens on your iPhone using Apple's on-device AI. No internet connection is required.
Why didn't the app detect my clearance?
Clearance AI listens for your specific callsign. Make sure you've entered your aircraft callsign correctly in the app settings. The app only extracts clearances addressed to your aircraft.
What audio sources are supported?
Clearance AI works with any audio source your iPhone can hear: handheld radios, panel-mounted audio panels, or intercom systems connected via audio cable.
Is there an Android version?
No. Clearance AI is iOS only. The on-device speech recognition uses Apple's custom language model APIs, which are not available on Android.
